PA-63 help! (Calling Norm...)

Post by weetabix »

I picked up my new PA-63 from my FFL last Thursday. This weekend, I field stripped it to clean it before taking it to the range.

I sprayed some BreakFree on it, let it sit for several minutes, then went to brushing it with a nylon brush. When I turned it over to brush the other side, the long steel part on the left between the barrel and trigger fell out. The manual calls that part the slide stop, but I've seen it called an ejector in other places. At any rate, the little spring that should retain it was missing. I don't know if it came without one or if I brushed it out inadvertently. I googled up this poston another site.

My question: Where can you get these springs if I can't find it? I think Norm makes that spring for the P-64. Is it interchangable?

I'm guessing it's unsafe to fire it without the spring.

Also, the slot on top of the part is not quite straight. It seems to be dented in a bit. Is that normal?

Thanks!

Yes its the same spring the PPK uses it too all the same spring

the dimple on the side of the slide stop is so the spring doesn't fly off when taken it apart

Thanks for the quick reply!

"Yes its the same spring the PPK uses it too all the same spring"

I'll look around the floor, and if I don't find it, I'll follow the ordering instructions on the front page.

"The dimple on the side of the slide stop is so the spring doesn't fly off when taken it apart."

Apparently, it didn't work... ::)
