jhp ammunition

Has anyone found an online source for good jhp ammunition in 9x18? I have had an order of Hornady backordered for two months with Cabelas.

What are you all using / what do you all prefer to load up with for CCW.

Thanks for any help.

Aim Surplus still has Silver Bear 94gr. JHP in stock. This stuff works without a hitch in my P-64 and VZ-82. I've used the Silver Bear 94gr. FMJ with tbe same results.

I have hornady hp's only because someone was selling a bulk ammont of 9x18 and a partial box of that came with it, it feeds well and looks really well made, but for several bucks cheaper and twice the ammo count (50 compared to 25) I'd go with the silverbear.

The cheapest place i've found for silverbear hp's is aimsurplus.com same as donnerwetter58 said

You made me look, reprisejim. Hornady is still available but a lot of the common sources are out of stock. In fact Midway says "out of stock, no backorder". Natchez is out. R&R Arms is out. Cheaper Than Dirt is out. Very odd.

I just checked those site out. I noticed that the ammo depot lists it out of stock too. Cabelas does not say out of stock on their website but take it from me, they are!! With so many companies showing it out of stock I wonder if Hornady has stopped making it? I have always respected the Hornady ammunition and would definately like to give them a "shot" at becoming my CCW ammunition.

I still see it as out of stock???? They have the bullets in stock but the ammunition is out of stock???

After reviewing the powrball forum and various info. about the ammunition, perhaps I will jump ship and try that. It sounds reliable and very effective. Price is really not an object when it comes to your life. Currently I am loaded up with Norinco FMJ. It's good at the range but I am not really all that confident in it for CCW.

I love the Sellier & Bellot FMJ...expensive but reliable, cleaner than most others and reloadable (if you do that sort of thing).

Ammunitiontogo.com has Silver Bear for $8.?? a box. I have yet to ever find Brown Bear anywhere in stock.

The only place I've seen Brown Bear 9x18 is at gun shows. I don't know where their source is.
