GOT GUN?

Post by redfestiva »

Here's a study saying that there are 90 guns for every 100 Americas. They say that the USA is the most heavily armed nation. I imagine that number is low since it is based on "known" guns.

GOT GUN?

Post by blinddog »

Does that mean one gun per American? If it has in mind people like some of us then that means there are only 11 americans per 100 that have guns. Or, are they saying most americans have 90 guns? I'm confused. This requires more study I think. Maybe you are right carguy, need more guns.

I read it wrong too.

So it says that on average 9 out of 10 Americans have a gun.

CRAP! Now I'm way over!!!

Oh well, I'm still buying more. ::)

I imagine they divided the U.S. population by the known number of guns registered. Just think of the areas that ban guns. And also think of the number of guns that are'nt known. I know few adults that have no gun in their household and I'm not talking gun enthusiasts at all. Practically everyone at least has an old hand me down shotgun in a closet. Not everyone shoots regularly however. I have a relative that has several very nice colts packed away that I bet he has'nt even looked at in 5 years. My dad has'nt shot a gun probably in 20 years but he has about 6 in the house , one loaded in the night stand.

No way I believe the stats for Iraq and my guess is that Afghanistan is the most armed country on th planet. More arms manufacturers in Afghanistan than you can believe, every home is a cottage industry for the manufacture of any type of weapon you could want. The Afghanis even made sixty minutes here ten or twelve years back and my guess is that everything the bad guys buy is home grown.

The problem there is no one knows who is making what in Afganistan. Buying the Kyber Pass knock off of "whatever", they are made from scrap parts and dangerous as hell! There can't be any accurate record keeping there.

My guess is you are right about them having the most per person but no way to tell.

have any of you guys seen that video some guy took in the kyber pass? he's some young dude who doesn't know much about guns (when shooting he holds the rifle all wrong) but the video they shot was really interesting, kids squatted on the ground hammering bullets into casings, bad translation on a norinco tt33 knock off, ect. I'll try to find it if no one else has it handy.

there was a Martini in a local shop recently and it was priced ridiculously low. It was about to go into my collection when the owner laffed at me and told me to look at it real close again. Hey I did but didnt see anything wrong with it. He handed me a small mirror and told me to look again. Boy am I smart, the writing, crown ,and all the marks were spelled backwards and were right way now instead of the mirror image they had been. It was a copy made in guess where, yup Afghanistan. at least he was nice enough to tell me I was just like the rest of his EXPERT customers. nobody else noticed it either. By the way it wasn't really for sale ,he is too reputable and bad comic.

Norm,

Thanks for the video, very interesting. By the way, I know you, anjdrifter, grayfox, myself and several others on this board are doing our share to keep the average on guns per capita "up" here in the good ole USA. At the gun shows I go to and have a table or two, I usually put up a sign, "Private Collector", but my wife changed my mind and now the sign says, "Private Accumulator", so according to her I am doing more than my share to keep the average up.

This is a pic of my last gun show in Florida [Fort Walton Beach] late last year, you probably can't read the sign under the Russian SKS on the rack but it is the last time I used the Private Collector sign at any of my gun shows, so now I'm a official Private Accumulator..... ::) Oh, and I also help keep the per capita average on bayonets up too, its a labor of love for me......... ;D

Hayden you really should post the card your wife made for you and then I will post the one I borrowed(stole her design) Everyone who I give the card always comments on it then I have to tell everyone of this nice LADY from Kentuck who designed for husband. U could always block out any personal stuff. On second thought maybe you shouldnt I like the exclusiveness of the card.

Al,

Let me see if I can find one, I think what I have left of them are in Panama City, but not sure, she made me two different business cards and I know I am low on them, and maybe out of them, if you want go ahead and show the one you have which is the first one that she made for me. I do have my new sign that I made up for my tables that says I'm a Private Accumulator, I'll get a pic of that today and post it later, gotta get to my part time job so i can make more money so I can buy more guns.
