Success at last!!

Post by doctor12004 »

Well, I finally got my 1974 P-64 back together. I stripped it right down to component parts, and then put it back together. The firing pin channel and loaded chamber indicator channel were dry and a bit rusty. Finally found the safety detent after several days searching. I found a dental pick the best tool for locating the trigger spring in the transfer bar groove. This message board is the greatest, and I would never have succeded except for the photos and descriptions Troy has posted, and Norm's springs.
Thanks to all!

yea that detent is a frustrating little bugger, I find it easiest to look straight at it when trying to put in back in the gun, becuase when it flys out it gets cought in your eye and is easy to find.

(or you could put it in a plastic bag...bla bla bla)
