Hello all,new p64 owner here,and just wanted to introduce myself,also have a question,wheres the cheapest and best place to buy 9x18mak ammo?Thanks!

hello, and welcome! I am new here as well, and must say that this is the coolest bunch of gun nuts on the net. There is a post about somebody finding Norinco green box 9x18. Other than that....I'm at a loss. You may want to try cernterfiresystems.com and/or whatacountry.com

With the high cost of shipping these days, I consider that there are two ways to get ammo. One is to order in bulk from any of the on-retailers. The price of bulk ammo including shipping is quite reasonable but if you try to ship small purchases, the shipping will kill you. If you can't justify a bulk purchase by yourself, see if there are some local guys that will go in with you and split a purchase.

The other way is to stock up when the local gun show comes to town.

AimSurplus http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/9X18_Makarov.html is pretty good on shipping but only makes sence if you are buying at least 500-1000 rounds.

Has anyone seen the letters from the top dogs,Remington,Winchester,CCI about the increase as of Sept.1 07,check out the info on Natche's.com.Better lock in some ammo now,5% increase min.Thanks to all ,I locked mine in at aim,silver bear....

Welcome to the forum. I agree with what Space suggested , Aimsurplus is a great place to get 9x18 ammo. I live within driving distance to them so I get mine there. I guess the shipping price kills the deal unless you buy a bunch. Even so it would probably beat most gun shops. Locally the cheapest I can get 9x18 is $11.00 for box of 50. Aimsurplus is $7.50 and that's for hollow points. Last time they had full metal jacket 9x18 it was $6.95.
I've been hearing lots of chatter about ammo price increases coming soon. On the Ohio's for Conceal Carry forum someone said they heard it could be as much as 40% higher by the new year. I think I will try to stock pile somewhat. Can't hurt to have lots on hand even if it does'nt get that bad.

Ammo to go isn't a bad place to get ammo but like doyle said shipping is a little expensive unless you buy bulk.
