CZ-82?
Trent,
The moral of the story is summer and conceal carry (other than the Kel-Tech .32 or 3AT) don't mix. Seriously, a pretty good story. The older I get the more I have to double and triple check to make sure things are where I think I left them, that I'm dressed the way I think I am--all those things I used to take for granted.
By the way, I ordered the CZ-82 from AIM. The price, delivered, was just a shade under $233. I didn't have to pay the $10 handpicked charge as the guy taking my order assured me that they were "all" in Excellent grade condition. I get two 12 round mags with this. AIM didn't have any spares mags for sale.
Looking forward to this!
Thanks.

CZ-82?
yea, I think for the summer I'll just keep the 82 as my car gun and let the p64 stick with me.
I've been quite enjoying cleaning my 82 and taking it apart, I oritionally had a mag release problem but solved with cleaning oiling and using an emory board on a rough edge with the mag release. This gun is making me feel like I actually know what I'm doing.
It's a fairly simplistic design. Try taking the firing pin out of it, Its a sinch! (you may have to use plyers to remove the firing pin once it has wedged itself in your eye though.)
I havent ventured into taking the hammer assembly apart yet, does anyone know how best to do this or can direct me to a disasembly manual.

The mags for the CZ-83 will interchange with the CZ-82? That surprises me--but I'm glad to hear it.
When I get the weapon, I will do my best to send pics. However, I've never used photobucket before. Of course, there's a first time for everything.

CZ-82?
Wow! I took delivery of the CZ-82 yesterday. I can see little, if any, sign of previous usee. Aims sent me a virtually NEW pistol, as best I can tell. It sure is odd to look down the barrell and see no grooves. This is great, as my P-64's looked to me to be never previously issued when I got them, as well.
The single action trigger is very nice, breaking at about 4.5 pounds. My elderly guage only goes up to 8 pounds, so I can't measure the DA pull, but I'd guess it's about 12 pounds.
Hopefully, I can take it out this weekend and shoot it! I will also try to work on this photobucket thing to see if I can get some pics posted on the message board. But I would already say that that the CZ-82 is a pistol that looks better in person than it does in pics.
Thanks to all for your help. Early indications are that this is a real winner!

devlinfaust,
Please keep us posted on how it shoots, I love mine! The first time I fired mine (and it was like yours, looked new), I had a couple of jams from the start, but after tapping the magazine on the spine before inserting in the well, I neveer had a nother failure.
You guys gave me a good laugh about the Czech "man purse", and "dork pack" for the holster ;D ;D ;D. I have to agree the holster is not the prettiest one in the world.

My first try with photobucket. I hope this works!
I was able to shoot the CZ-82 today and it worked great. Accurate, easy to control and fed flawlessly.
Thanks to everyone for the advice. It put me over the edge to buy it and I'm glad I did.

CZ-82?
J&G Sales has had some CZ 83 mags for $24.95. I have recently seen them advertised for less on the internet, I am thinking $19 (that doesn't mean they have them in stock of course) but cannot recall where. I have a CZ82 and a CZ83, both chambered for 9x18 and the mags are interchangeable.
