Finally broke down and bought a modern [2003] handgun, a CZ 75 P-01 compact 9mm........and its a sweetheart. Has the tactical rail built in, 14 rd mags, came with papers, hard case, $400 OTD. Haven't had a chance to put it to paper but shot it in the boondocks and I love it. Easy to break down, disassembly and reassembly took under 30 seconds. I'll give a range report when I get the chance to take it to the range.
The CZ line of pistols are great. I have been thinking about getting one of the new Armalite AR-24 pistols made in Turkey and the design is very close to the CZ-75. The slide to rail mating is what makes them so accurate. Great line of weapons!

abwehr,
Yes, the slide to rail is different in that it rides on the inside of the rail on the frame instead of the outside. From what little I have shot it, only at 10 yrds and at a 9" paper plate, it is very accurate.
