Ok, compare this photo with the one taken in 1951.

Here I am, 57 years later, on a Special Winter Mission to Ketchikan. I'm the guy in the dark shirt, center photo, without hat, without hair, holding another prototype Makarov. With this white-faced model, the Russians attempted feeding the 9x18 with a round magazine exiting out through a rifle-length barrel.

carguy

if you notice the suspenders are holding up the gun belt not the pants , that was the smallest gun belt they had at the time with two holsters

for some reason I pictured you older (perhaps it is because you are wise)

are you current/former Military or police?

Troy,

Great picture, isn't that what it is all about? You can take the biggest, toughest guy in the world and put a child with him and watch him turn to mush. You have a beautiful child...be careful they grow up WAY TOO FAST. It seems like my son I regularly reference here was 5 years old 10 minutes ago and he is soon to celebrate his 21st birthday. And he's my baby! My daughter is 24, I'll soon be 50...I started young. 8~)

Enjoy as much as you can while you can.

NBENDER,

As long as you're not the very pale tall guy wearing blue eye liner up against the wall playing the flute! or brushing his teeth...whatever he's doing...then okay! I'd like to hear some of what you were playing. I attended the Grand Ole Opry last year on a business trip to Nashville...WOW...I like most music but fell in love with some bluegrass they were playing. A great hobby
(I play a little guitar, very little and very poorly but I love trying).

8~)

Former Marine infantry.

Carguy... yes I live in the moment with them everyday cause when the toys are gone and they are grown... well then I guess you start a different chapter. Life is incredibly short and you or I may be gone tommorow. That is why I like doing things while I can and help others who are less fortunate.

Here we are in Panama City this past April on the beach at St. Andrews, wife Mary Anne and Mollie our 5 month old American Eskimo. Wife was there to spend all my money shopping and I was trying to get to the gun show before she spent all my money, but I sneaked in a 1942 4" Colt Commando before she had spent it all.

nbender,

I had to look to find a pix of me without a hat, most of my pix's are with a hat on and most think I am bald, but I guess I was blessed with getting hair like both my parents, however, I did have make-up do me before they took this pix......... ::)

Nope, not my niece, she be my wife, I be 63 and she is 61, we dated in high school and and 38 years later we met again and we have been married going on 6 years, life is great and she enables my addictions with the milsurps, course, when I get something new so does she, so I laugh when someone says how much something cost, cause I have to pay double for everything I get nowdays......... ;D.........but yet I wear the pants in the family.......yeah right!!!
