I was wondering the same thing, the commies stockpiled ammo like cats in an apartment, so where is the 9x18?

The importers probably have to "find" it (wait for a good time to put it on the market when enough pistols are sold)

surplus ammo is available in 9x18. It comes in 16 round boxes and is corrosive, usually sold for around 2 bucks a box.

I'll see if I can find a link somewhere for some.

I cant find any online but I know one of my local FFL's sells the stuff for 2 or 3 bucks a box.

On Makarov.com on the ammo page they have a pic of S&B military contract 9x18 ammo that comes in 24 round boxes, they are out of stock though.

barnett, if the FFL has any of the Chinese in 16-round boxes I'd be very interested in making a deal. It would be recognized by the lack of markings on the 16-round box, and a headstamp of "71 xx", with "xx" being the year of manufacture, such as 85, 86, etc.

More common is the B-West 16-round box with blue lettering.

I just checked a partial mixed box of ammo I got with a gun and I have 3 rounds (sorry it's not more) with 71 93 markings. I think I had more but when shooting with a buddy he shot some of it. :(

I don't think 3 rounds would be of use to anyone but if you need it let me know.

Thanks 9x18 - that headstamp indicates a manufacture date of 1993, which is after the Chinese military swiched from using corrosive primers. Not to be picky! ... but I'm looking for the older corrosive stuff.

And I suspect that because of the date, the ammo you have came in a Norinco or Jing An box?

It was mixed in with some green box MFS 93gr. I still have 10-15 rds. of that and about 12 rds. of the old Corbon 95gr. HP's. I also recently found 500 rds. of PS Grand at a shop. That stuff is pretty HOT!!

PS Grand is just about my favorite 9x18! Fast travelling and reloadeable. It's only been imported in small batches and there's been none recently.

Nbender,

The ammo is the B-West stuff from Russia, blue lettering on the box and the headstamp is "B-West 9x18"

Trent,

I asked about availability and from where for you. They said they order it and get it in all the time with no problems so I assume that it is readily available, unfortunately the "Head Guy" wasnt there today and the guy I was talking to didnt know where they order it from.

I bought 10 boxes of it for 3 bucks each, and there is plenty more there. I will post pics of it soon.
