Today "Daily" Polish newspaper reports the Polish Defense Ministry admission that the soldiers sent to Afganistan are very poorly equipped citing, among other problems, major defects in WIST 94 pistol. They claim that it can jam 28 out of 32 times and that the issue holster is way too tight causing major difficulties in putting the pistol in the holster and taking it out.

Those complants were evident from the very beginning the pistol was approved and contracted for the Polish army. I was in Poland when the Lucznik factory in Radom lost the bid with their MAG 95s to the polymer WIST 94 and I talked with the Radom engineers who were very bitter that a clearly superior design of the MAG lost for most likely political reasons.

Hi mecenas,
You've got absolutely right, In fact P-94 is a piece of s***.
In my opinion - the worst pistol in the world.
I wrote about it somewhere on this forum before.
Personally I'm using my private MAG95 - even in work.
I saw a lot of jams in P-94, maby even more than clear shots.
In autumn I'm going to Afghanistan, I wonder what to do, to take my MAG with me ;) I'm not a suesider.

Hello Bartos:
My advice would be - don't hesitate even a second. Take the MAG. It is a wonderful pistol and the weight doesn't make that much of a difference in the field conditions. We are not talking an undercover police assignment in Hawaii where the size and the weight may be critical. We are talking an unfriendly territory where having the most reliable equipment can make a difference between life and death.
I admire you for being in the Polish armed forces and risking your life in a strange and foreign country for freedom and democracy.
Good luck and God speed.

Though I don't know much on the P-94, I'm with mecenas on all the rest.
Powodzenia!!
