I have been using Vihtavuori N350 and 95gr HDY-XTPHP's ... at 1150 fps, this load doesn't show any signs of pressure, although it is probably a max load. Recoil, well, it's snappy with those loads.

Gee now instead of having my pick-up seat reupholstered I want to head back to the range tomorrow.LOL but have to get that done tomorrow :-/ or wait a few months.Range is less busy during the week anyway. So it looks like Monday morning. Oh btw name is Frank. Nice to meet you guys. email is in my profile if you want to shoot the bull.

Saands, Reloads with AA7 shot great...recoil mild no pressure signs 1004 fps with ES 57 and SD 18 not great numbers but a very accurate load. I may go back and try the AA2 and see if the 22# recoil spring fixes the ramp impression problem. Next time I hit the gun shop I'll have to pick up some of the Vihtavuori n350. Would you be willing to share where you got the reloading data for the v n350 loads? Checked my books and they didn't list the n350.
Thanks Frank

I have a program called QuickLoad ... it is an internal ballistics simulation that allows me to predict chamber pressures and projectile velocities for all kinds of different powder, bullet and cartridge combinations. Keep in mind that it is true that "all models are wrong, but some are useful"
This is one of those useful models. I typically get a starting load and then work up from there ... paying close attention to the condition of the brass. and checking the results with a chrony (each lot of powder and primers is different, so I always keep in mind the max safe velocity that the model predicts and even if there aren't any signs of over pressure, I stop before I exceed that velocity). I don't really like to post the loads that I develop in this manner, but I'd be happy to share them with you via a PM if you like.

Thanks Saands, I completely understand on not posting loading data and probably should not included it in my previous post. I would appreciate PM on the info. I've been reloading for about 2 years and have had good luck using Lee, Hornady, Speer and some older books some friends gave me and know I can benefit from more experienced reloaders.
Thanks

After two years, I imagine that you know to always reduce a max charge by 10% (unless using one of the strange magnum pistol powders like H110) and work it up from there. That certainly applies to the load that I PM'd you.
