I have used this brand of ammo before in 303 Brit. , 7.62x 25, and 7.65 x 53 AR all top quality ammo have not used in 9 x 18
( still cheaper than brass, primer , powder, and ball )

Norm, Thanks. I am having a desparate time finding the ammo local, i.e. Virginia Beach. My hunt has lead me online. I need to find where I can get the most rounds the cheapest.

danicrow,

Glad to have you aboard. That is some very good ammo. It's got quality brass and is boxer primed and that makes it reloadable.

The best steel case, non-reloadable readily available these days is Silver Bear available in several places on the web. It's good for range and self defense and is definitely affordable. For those who aren't set up to reload, I believe it's the way to go. You can get it here:

http://www.jgsales.com/

A good outfit to deal with and shipping is reasonable. I have my P-64s that I depend on for personal protection loaded with this Silver Bear HP. AIM had it for a while, but is presently sold out.
It's very popular with P-64 and Makarov shooters. Many of us think it wise to stock up on this reliable, effective ammo because of the uncertainty of future access to imports, due to the political climate.

I agree with the comments on Wolf with one exception, Wolf Gold.

I would use Wolf Gold since it is Prvi Partizan ammo relabled by Wolf. Look at any online add for Wolf Gold, as on the ammunitionstore.com and it'll probably mention made in Serbia. There is only one Serbian ammo factory!

Anyhow, Prvi Partizan is good stuff and I wish it was more widely available since if you visit their site, they make 9x18, 7.62x25, standard 9mm and more. I have used Prvi Partizan 32 acp ammo extensively and noticed that Wolf Gold was the same ammo with Wolf Gold boxes only the Wolf Gold is more expensive.

Standard Wolf ammo other than Gold has nothing to do with Prvi Partizan.

If you have the choice between Prvi Partizan and Wolf Gold, buy the Prvi Partizan since it is cheaper, but the same ammo.

Hello Steve:

I don't think Wolf Gold has been made in 9x18 yet? At least I haven't seen it. The new Wolf "Military Classic" is made at the Ulyanovsk Machine Tool Plant in Russia - the first 9x18 that Wolf has contracted that is not made at the Tula Cartridge Works. It seems to be great stuff, but hasn't been out for long enough to really be evaluated.

And I'll bet that the new Barnaul 9x18 is on equal footing with any of the Russian steel-cased rounds that are available.

It's looking good for 9x18 ammunition availability again - if you don't mind the 15 - 20% price hike over the past 18 months.

NB,

You are very correct! Wolf Gold is not made in 9x18. I wouldn't be surprised if they start selling Prvi Partizan under their name at some point though.

I was mostly just pointing out what great ammo PP makes. Sounds like guys here are talking about different calibers of ammo, so I threw in my $0.02 about Prvi Partizan.

I haven't got the new barnaul yet. I like the stuff they make. I just hit the gunshow in Portland and picked up some old RAM HP ammo with the wide mouths. I've done some tuning on a couple of pistols for feeding so I'm hoping it works ok for me. I'm not sure where the dealer got the stuff, but he had 15 boxes and I was able to get 10. I had some boxes of it a couple years back, but it seemed like I had feeding issues.
