Lost my grip nut

Hello Fellas,
Been a while since I've been here. Lost my grip nut :'(
I need a suggestion on a replacement nut and size please.

Ask, Norm. You can search thru the threads. It's been addressed before, Got a small metric,shallow/thin hexnut from say home depot. Heated it it and oil quenched it for bluing I think. What size, it seems the outer diameter was 3,4mm, they made thin hex nuts. I sure it's metric thread though. I would just take it and test it. Maybe a local hardware that has everything (every town needs one with a NORM) I've always had good luck with the 'Old Guy's' some of the young one's don't know much beyond what it says on the plastic bag.

I find the proper size at ACE hardware in the small little carboard containers they usually have an isle with them ..

Ace hardware had a bunch at .17 each. I bought 5 and did darken them up like my Pop taught me while making muzzloading rifle parts. Norm too mentioned how to also do this on a previous post.
