What I'm saying is, don't go through "Atlanta" un-armed

What I've heard is don't go INTO Atlanta (proper) armed--they have a city ordinance, whacking big fine if you're caught carrying. There should be a "pre-emption" issue there, :o but I don't wanna be the guy to test it... >:(

I think you are right, I guess what I should have said is don't go into the counties that Atlanta is considered to be in, unarmed (you know when you get there because the gas stations have bars on the windows and the cashier is surrounded by inch thick plexy glass) not to defur anyone from traveling in "The ATL" as they say it is fine in the daytime, heck I was just up at a army surplus store in that area, I just make sure I'm armed.

Ohio passed a new law last march that prohibits individual cities from enacting their own gun laws. Now the "only gun laws" are the Ohio State Gun Laws. Cleveland and Toledo city officials were especially upset but oh well, they'll get over it.

ok, There is nothing on being prohibited from carrying a gun in Atlanta, so it's ok.

on a related note I found this in the Atlanta codes that I thought was funny...

Sec. 106-302. Firing of cannons, artillery.
It shall be unlawful for any person within the city to fire a cannon or other piece of artillery without special permission of the council.
(Code 1977, § 17-4006)

I remember a thread from last spring where I had just got back from Medina and that area,Cleveland ,and was amazed at how many places had their private little stores and such off limits to ccw, I believe we discussed they could do that..Boy will they never learn they are easy targets when they do that..

Good point, Anj. One of the major things that's driving America down the tube is the ability of people without wisdom or experience getting themselves into positions as policy makers.
Stacks of college credentials from liberal universities and not a lick of common sense. They hire ARMED security personnel to protect THEMSELVES though. The really scary thing is that they have control of the public school system and are reproducing themselves at an overwhelming rate. I am fast coming to the conclusion that it is going to be impossible to stop the momentum of these disastrous policies through the electoral process. >:(

carguy&nbender--Bet your bippy AARP supports gun control--they use their lobbyists to push every gun control measure that comes along. If you doubt it, ask them!! They cloak their response with talk like "gun violence against seniors/children must be eliminated", etc, etc.

I regularly receive their literature (unsolicited) and delight in sending NRA info to them in the post-paid envelope they provided--

anybody know what grain bullet the green box norinco is? I found a ton of it collecting dust at one of the local gun shops, but the guy that worked there said that he thought it was a 105 grain bullet. I'd be buying it for a PA-63, and I've heard to not fire anything heavier than a 95 grain in a PA-63. It's $11.25/box which isn't great, but I have a feeling they'd cut me a deal on bulk....especially with having to take the dust with the boxes too. I just don't want to waste my $$ if it's too much for my PA-63.

I believe, without pulling a box out, that Norinco is advertised as 93-grain? Anyway I pulled one bullet a while back and it weighed 94.5 grains. I think it's a military spec (in fact military surplus) cartridge and safe to fire in the PA-63.

That $11.25 price is high for Norinco.

thanks nbender,

yeah, it seems that most gun shops nowadays are high period....at least in east TN. I have a feeling they'd let me haggle them a bit, so we'll see. Just glad to know it's OK for my PA-63. Again, thanks for the info!
