P83 Magazine Spring

Post by Rakin » October 18th, 2017, 11:07 am

Anyone know where you might be able to buy replacement P83 magazine springs? Acquired a new P83 a few weeks ago and had a few failures to lock back with last round and doing some trouble shooting, to me it looks like the Mag spring is weak and therefore not applying enough force against the slide catch.

thanks in advance,

Have you tried stretching the spring out to get more tension to see if that fixes it?

Going to try that as well Curly. For the first time out, I was not trying to troubleshoot on range. It only failed to lock back a couple times and did not understand the mechanics until I cleaned afterwords. At that time, came to understanding that the catch on mag follower pushes up on slide lock.

Good suggestion though.
