This is supposedly the same stuff MFS first started importing way back, just in a different box... If so, it's fairly clean and accurate stuff... I remember when I first bought my Makarov (My first handgun!!!) that this stuff and corrosive ex-soviet military stuff is all that was available...

Got my purpleheart P-64 grips from Christian Bond today... They are AWESOME!!! Can't wait to take it out to the range and give it a run without the annoying ridge!!! Thanks for the great grips, Himmel and Himmel Jr.!!! (Can't post pics right now, due to my computer not liking my digital camera at th...

Blown primer almost took out my P64 today
Is this that conical 109grain stuff??? This is why I stick to the 90-95grain rounds that the Makarov and P-64 were designed for...

abwehr, Yeah, I've often thought the same thing about a lot of my guns, but the only ones I'd fully comprehend would be my American and Japanese surplus stuff without a translator... ;D ;D ;D I know a bit of German (thanks, dad) and a little bit of Chinese and Russian... I'd dearly love to learn Fin...

Awesome Luger, abwehr... Now I'm REALLY tempted by those Finn Lugers SOG has for sale... ;D ;D ;D Another nice thing about the 7.62x25mm round is it will punch through light armored vests even with lead core ammo... How do I know this??? My buddy (a deputy sherriff) got one of the new synthetic spid...

abwehr, does your luger have a matching phenolic magazine??? Nice find, btw... How much did it set you back, if you don't mind my asking???
I'm looking to get another for my collection eventually... My 1917 has Imperial acceptance stamps, but no DWM marking... Kinda odd...

Converting a Star or Astra to take a different round is not a good idea. These are older guns and not meant for the strain of a modern cartridge like the 38 Super. Like you said, it is a "crackin' round" and that is bad news for an old gun. Yeah, you might have put thousands of rounds thr...

abwehr, one of the things that always struck me as interesting was the German army's willingness to use any and all captured, scrounged, and bought weapons to equip their units... Photographic evidence shows the use of Russian SVT autoloaders and PPSh SMGs by German NCOs in Russia (even among standa...

One thing the Star Model B's (and thus likely the Astra 400s as well) being imported can be easily modified to take is .38 Super... Case length, etc. is almost exactly a match for 9mm Largo, but the .38 Super is semi-rimmed, requiring slight modification to the ejector (easily done by a skilled guns...

Did I almost blow my gun up?
dickfunk, I agree completely with b52stan, I definately WOULD NOT be shooting any more of those rounds... Those look like the ones we recovered from an overcharge incident here... A buddy of mine had handloaded some .45 rounds for his Ballister-Molina, but screwed up his scale and ended up putting 4...
