Just a suggestion; put a few drops of Liquid Wrench penetrating oil (or similar) on the pin, put the slide in the freezer for an hour then slam it down briskly against a piece of wood laid down on a hard surface.

Christoff... welcome! There is a gap maybe a few millmeters and the trigger does reset. pulling the trigger results in no strike to the primer. Took it out to the range yesterday and ran another 50 rounds through it. Total of 100 rounds since completing the repair and it looks as though it's going to live!
