Re: Hornady Critical Defense Ammo
I think CorBon used to make 9mm makarov ammo, but they discontinued it for some reason. I heard it was some of the best 9x18 defense ammo out there.

Re: Hornady Critical Defense Ammo
Here is some testing on the round. Unfortunately no expansion test yet. http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?231809-Velocity-Test-Hornady-Critical-Defense-90-grain-FTX Here is a test of the .380 version which will probably be similar to the 9x18 version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-H9M6cZGd18

Hornady XTP
Has anyone tried this ammo? I think it's fairly new and might outperform the older XTP stuff. Hopefully it gets more expansion and penetration than XTP. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=990277 I've been carrying S&B FMJ, but I'd really like to find a decent defense...

TulAmmo
Does anyone have any experience with TulAmmo? I noticed they are now selling it in 9x18. I've been seeing it in 7.62x39 for a while now. Isn't Wolf made at the Tula plant?

Re: Liquidating Guns
I've still got to get a decent 9x19 and a revolver. Right now I just have to stock .32ACP, 7.62x25, 9x18, 7.62x54R, .22, 5.45x39, 7.62x39, and my 12ga and .410 shotgun. The 32ACP is just my Kel-tec pocket pistol so I don't shoot it often. I'm thinking about getting a Makarov, but I could also use a ...

Re: CZ-82 from Aim Surplus
Oh, I just noticed. You got a better mag than me. Both mags they sent me have the thinner plate on the bottom. I wish I had the thicker version, they are sturdier.

Re: CZ-82 from Aim Surplus
I ordered mine from AIM and I was more than pleased. The only thing I disliked was the nylon shoulder holster they sent. I was expecting the military flap holster. Oh well. Seems like you got a 1984; I got a 1986. I also removed the white paint on the sights and used acrylic model plane/car paint wi...

Liquidating Guns
I'm wondering if any of you guys have the same mindset as me. I inherited quite a few guns from my great grandfather a few years ago. Since I got them, I have been slowly liquidating the collection. Some didn't really appeal to me and some were crap. I got rid of one 9mm (it was a Bersa, iirc), a Je...

Re: Where to buy a P64.
What's the good going rate for P-64s now? I paid $175 a few months ago. Although mine was in pretty spotty condition. Plenty of pitting and some rust (now removed). The seller mentioned nothing about it in the ad and you couldn't see it in the pictures.

Re: First time shooting my new P64
Definitely get a CZ-82. I mainly use it for a bedside gun, but I carry it sometimes. The only problem is the frame is a little thick because of the double stack magazine. I love the 9x18 round too and I think it's my favorite handgun round. Cheap and fun to shoot!

Re: Where do you buy your 9x18 ammo and what do you like bes
I like shooting the SilverBear 94 gr FMJ for practice and carry the SilverBear 94 gr JHP after it impressed me with some wetpack testing. I video taped some tests, you can find the link in the FMJ vs. JHP thread here. BrownBear is a little dirtier and the laquer cases can lead to problems without t...

Re: Where do you buy your 9x18 ammo and what do you like bes
I used to get ammo locally, but it's much cheaper online, even with shipping. The only shop here that carries 9x18 only has Hornady XTP and Wolf crap. I carry and shoot Brown Bear FMJ. It's dirty, but I've never had a misfire or any other problem. I trust my life with it. Edit: Is Wolf still crap am...

Re: Gun Storage
Scratch the wooden box idea. My bed only has 6" of clearance underneath. I'll just get a stack on storage cabinet. It should keep a thief out for a while and provide a nice place for my guns besides a linen closet.

Re: Gun Storage
I'm also considering building a wooden locking box that will accommodate 10 rifles. Something that will slide easily under the bed. Out of sight, weight, and a bit of security. Plywood should be sturdy enough.

Gun Storage
Hi guys, I am thinking I need to lock up my guns better than a linen closet with a simple lock. Someone could jimmy that lock open in about 5 seconds. I live in an apartment, so a huge gun safe really isn't feasible. I'm considering one of those stack on gun cabinets. I won't be able to bolt it to t...
