Latest batch from J&G
In my opinion, paying the handpick fee does not really improve your chances of better quality when they are selling the last of their in-stock items, and they should admit that and refuse the fee.

Latest batch from J&G
Bought one from J&G right before Christmas (paid the handpick fee and asked for the best they had), what I received was OK externally, internals showed a lot of wear (see link below) http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3074 Sent it back before new years. I'd say they are at the bott...

Any comments on Blue Wonder?
I really like Blue Wonder - it is an excellent cleaner and rust remover, and it will not harm the existing finish. I've used it to prep metal for light cold bluing many times. I usually do a final prep by wiping the area with methyl (NOT isopropyl) alcohol as a final degreaser before bluing the meta...

Ross, Thanks for checking your pistols! Sorry, I should have been more descriptive in my post title. Dom and I both had similar posts in two forums (see my post here: http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=88432 ) regarding this very same issue, and virtually no one chimed in with...

Well, I sent it back this morning.
I may try again for a nice P64, but not with J&G.
Thanks for the advice and comments, they were much appreciated!
Happy New Year!

I've asked NORM for his opinion on this, and he replied as follows: TBone if you are in doubt send it back, to me it doesn't look to bad I'd polish it out , but I'm not holding it in my hands , I don't use steel ammo in any of my guns , so its hard to tell what cause this NORM I'm a bit more incline...

By the way, since I purchased this pistol thru my FFL, will I have to go thru him to return the pistol to J&G if I decide to do so? Or can I just send it back myself?
Regards,
TBone

Greetings! :) I just purchased my first P64 a few days ago (J&G $159 + $10 handpick "Very good plus") and would like comments/suggestions regarding a ding and chamber wear that I noticed. Is this normal wear? Is it safe? I believe it was caused by feeding issues, possibly use of steel ...
