Thanks for the replies, guys. Yes, jhandy, you got it right - I'd like to shorten the distance from the front of the grip to the backstrap. It looks to me as though I could easily reduce this measurement by 1/8", perhaps a bit more, without affecting the operation of the mainspring. What got me...
