Range Report: P64
I like the Hornady XTP for a hollow-point round. I'm not sure about the new "Critical Self Defense" with it's plastic insert. My P-64 cycles Hornady XTP's like it's popping candy from a PEZ dispenser! :) I was surprised, since the gun is bone-stock with no fluff'n'buff at all. However, I u...

Grips & Cocked and Locked
Add me to the "+ whatever number we're up to" on the "cocked&locked" issue. The P-64 is DA/SA with a de-cocking lever (which does block the firing pin). However, the de-cocking lever should always drop the hammer (de-cock) when activated. As for aftermarket grips; None off th...

J&G P-64's
Mine is marked 1976 also, with the triangular hammer spur. Did not appear to have been fired, not a mark on the feed ramp nor magazine follower. I didn't opt for the $10 hand pick, since all reports from J&G stock have been so good. Mine had very little to clean out inside....some excess oil, bu...

I bought several boxes of Brown Bear 9x18 (and a Pearce Makarov grip) a couple weeks ago from Cheaper Than Dirt....$9.79 a box. Shipping was only like $11 for the lot. Brown bear works great in all of my 9x18 pistols. It was cheaper than the local gun show prices. I buy 90% of my ammo online from CT...

First Shot? I'll go with Single Action
The D/A pull on mine is only hard if you try to slowly pull it back and stage it. If you quickly, firmly, and smoothly pull it (as you would in an SD emergency) it is just fine. S/A pull is light, after the long trigger creep. Both were easy to get used to, with no modification to the gun. FWIW: I p...

My question goes out to people who have ordered from J&G: How long did it take for the pistol to get to your FFL holder or you (if you have an FFL)? J&G processed and shipped my order out the day after I placed it. They send pistols via 2-day shipping. I believe that's the law now. So figur...

I just ordered a P-64 finally yesterday from J&G Sales. So it's $181.95 shipped to my FFL guy, then another $20 for the transfer.....$201.85 total ain't bad at all. Just look at what people are asking for the P-64 on gunbroker! Then add shipping and FFL transfer fees, yikes! I thought about look...
