Ouch 125 rounds later

so today i go to the range to break in a couple of new mag's..... and make sure my P64 fires after all the fussing i did with it in putting in new 20# recoil spring, new firing pin spring, 18# hammer spring and messing with the safety.....
so it went bang on first round, and the mag full of 95 gr FMJ all worked just fine, brand of ammo from S&B, same brand i use in my 45 ACP.......
now i was a bit surprised on how hard the recoild was, even after reading stuff on the forum for the past month.... but on to the mag breakin....
new mag #1, 2 rounds, 3 rounds, 4 rounds, 5 rounds, and a jam failure to feed... so back to 2 rounds, etc, on the 3rd try at 5 rounds it fed and fired.... so on to 6 rounds... whoops, back to 4, then 5 and did this 3 times before it would feed the 6th round... by then i was glad i had brought 100 rounds of FMJ.....
and before i could break in the second magazine, i had fired the full 100..... plus 25 rounds of Hornady 95gr JHP/XTP....
i was surprised that the Hornady rounds did not have the bang/flash that the FMJ rounds did.....
ran out of ammo, had a hurting right web of my hand, along with a couple of small scrapes......
and i moved on to my Ruger P345..... only tried 50 rounds of Federal HST 230 gr JHP's, which is my 45 ACP carry ammo, no problems, but it was sure easier to load the mags of the 45 than of the 9x18..... and it was easier shooting.....
so, now they are all cleaned up, and i still have another magazine to get to work properly with 6 rounds.... i guess that will happen after the holidays....
all in all, at 7 yards, that little beast puts holes pretty close to where i was aiming..... and after 125 rounds there were two holes about 4 inches across, surrounded by a lot of little holes....
what fun.... i guess i will keep it..... but next time will be wearing a glove and probably limit it to no more than 50 rounds at a time....
