I was watching one of those reality programs this week and learned something. There was a gangster found dead, wrapped up in a blanket in a dark alley, who had been killed by one or more large caliber bullets. The thing that I found crazy was that it wasn't the first time he had been shot. Along with the killing shot, he carried three 32acp slugs in his carcase for quite a while that evidently didn't slow him down much, the fellow went by the street name of "Bullet Hole".
Anybody want to buy a gently used Ivory framed Kel-Tec P-32 ?

I always find it interesting that historicaly the 32 was used by so many organizations in Europe. ..

Yep, was the standard police sidearm for years and years all over Europe--may still be in some parts of the world. BTW, I saw an article about a guy who survived a head shot with a .44 magnum too...

however, don't throw them away just yet......
in Evan Marshall and Edwin Sanow's book "Stopping Power" they accumulated actual shooting data on most of the calibers and for the 32 they had documented 387 shootings with 218 'one shot stops'.... that is a 56% effectiveness..... and the penetration ranged from 9 inches to 11 inches, 11 being for the FMJ.......

Do you guys ever read John Taffin? He's a 6-gun guru. I'm talking the John Wayne, side holster 6-gun.

He could draw and hit point of aim in less than 1/2 second. He said on a good day he could do it in 1/10 of a second. He's no BSer. For those who saw the movie scene where the good guy said "You draw first" - it never, ever, did not happen.

It's the same thing in a tank battle. See and shoot first.

+1 with both grayfox and nbender. Its one thing to be shot at, its quite another to shot at and hit. Trust me on this one.........

I wouldn't worry so much about the caliber of the pistol I was caring as much as I would about the location and penetration of the round I was shooting, be it a .22 or a .44 mag, if you can't hit what you are shooting at it don't make any difference, practice, practice, practice, in all sort of scenarios, practice point shooting where you aim with your mind, and off hand shooting, by that I mean your weak hand, you might not be able to use your strong side hand, practice reloading with your weak side hand where you are not able to use your strong side hand to grip with. When you are in a gun fight, it ain't like being at the range, paper don't shoot back, like grayfox said, you have to have the mindset to use your weapon, by practicing different scenarios and using your other hand to the point it becomes second nature to you, then if the times comes your mindset will be better prepared.
