Browsing at my favorite gunshop a few weeks ago, I spied a small pistol marked Polish Makarov, the price was $125.00 Now I never owned a Mak, but I knew that Poland never made one either. I asked to take a look at it and noticed that it appeared to be a fairly well made, yet utilitarian, pistol. I handed it back, went home and began trying to satisfy my curiosity about the pistol.

After finding this site and reading about these little pistols, I went back to my dealer for another look. The dealer told me that the previous owner had some feed failures, but that if I wanted it, he would toss in a new hard case and drop the price to $100.00.

I took the pistol apart, then handed the dealer my CPL and a $100.00. He brought out the case whick contained the extra magazine. As he did the paperwork I removed the recoil spring and re-installed it the correct way. I bought a box of ammo and went out to test fire the new purchase. I fired several magazines worth, with no failures of any kind. But I did decide that I will replace the springs before I do much more shooting with it.

At the end of the day, I had a lightly used P-64, 2 magazines and a new hard case, all for the sum of $100.00. I don't know what I will ever use the pistol for, I don't need another carry gun, but for $100.00, I didn't think I could go wrong.

So thanks to all for the info contained on these boards.

Great purchase muley,
You don't see them under $150 anymore, usually about $175 and that generally is with one magazine.
