After a thorough cleaning and purchase of a pair of beautiful wattle grips from Dennis, I took my 1971 P-64 out for the first time this weekend to punch holes in a cardboard box.

I had a great experience. Firing was kind of "snappy", but the recoil and trigger-pull were not bad at all, and the pistol felt good in my hand.

From 15 feet and 25 feet I was able to keep most of my shots within 3 inches, with several magazines keeping 3-4 shots within a 1 1/2 inch circle.

I am a new shooter, and am really pleased with the handling and accuracy of the P-64. I am looking forward to getting out again soon.

yes, it is hard to beat a p-64. my p-64 is a keeper.

Things will just get better as time goes on. But let me warn you to be very very careful, P-64's are addicting, if your not carefully you will own three, four or more of them. Be afraid, be very very afraid.

I printed out the "official" targets and will have to see how well I do at 10 yards. I saw some of the earlier "shootout" photos and there is some good competition on this board.

Maybe after spending more time with my p-64 I will actually complete my C&R form and send it in. Could another P-64 be in my future? I also wouldn't mind having a CZ-82. I am deer hunting this season with a Mosin Nagant M44 and just purchased a Chinese SKS carbine, so mil-surps are definitely addictive.
