So, who all is heading for the machine gun shoot?
For those who have never been, the night shoot on Saturday is well worth the trip.

I'm traveling so much of late that I couldn't take the time no matter what! :'( Someday I will make the trip... 8-)

I was in DC 2 weeks ago, Maine this week (couple of days), New Jersey next week (couple of days) , Vermont the week after (couple of days) and Las Vegas the week of the 22nd.

After that I'll be around, just day trips I hope. Maybe some overnights here and there to Maine and Vermont depending on how long the weather stays nice!!

My big vacation will be a week with the guys riding motorcycles to Lake George, NY for Americade in June! :-*

I'm already starting to lay the ground work with my wife...so no un-necessary travel. Actually we were thinking about Florida (Delray Beach) to visit the in-laws over the holidays but I just don't think my wife is up for it right now so we'll see.

grayfox, are you planning on going to this one.

After seeing the rain and mud you guys had to deal with this past spring...if I were planning to try to attend wouldn't October be the better one? ???

ahh hell carguy,

Just wear ya a good 'ol pair of Bean boots or galoshes! I promise that even with the mud IT IS MORE THAN WORTH it. I went back in I think spring of '02 or spring of '03....(my 33 year old mind is getting bad). Anyway, just be sure to bring a good pair of boots, and DEFINITELY don't wear any Boston College or UMASS crap.....if the dealers and vendors find out your from Kerrychusetts they might ignore you! :P Just joking, I owe you, man! Because of you, my wallet is going to be very tight for some time now.

I was looking forward to it , but time and circumstances changed the game plan. Since the show in April I have learned so much about Milsurp from a great teacher and others here that I would be a much better hunter at the booths.. oh well next spring.

Correcto, the upper parking lot by the main gate on Saturday morning [April 14th 2007] was impossible to get out of without a tractor to pull you out, and the lower parking lot was flooded by early afternoon, and the camp ground was flooded also, and if you parked out on highway and your vehicle was over the white line on the edge of the road your vehicle was hauled off. However, the local LEO's were very nice and made announcements over the PA for correcting the situation and gave everyone a chance to get their vehicle in compliance. So anjdrifter's advice will save you a long walk out to the highway and if you can't catch a ride back up the hill you have a long pull back up to the show. For me, Knob Creek was worth every drop of rain and every step in the mud. I got to meet anjdirfter and grayfox for the first time, for me that was worth the whole trip. Knob Creek was great , but being with them and sharing was priceless.

I drove down their with my wife last year on saturday only to find Knob Creek basically a swamp. No place to park a car (at least not if you valued the car). I had never been there and didnt know what to expect so we passed it up and so I'll try it again next weekend under dryer conditions hopefully. I did stumble across a cool gunshop in the area that was sorta a gunshop/fleamarket. From the look of the boxes it looked like they had some old ammo that had been on the shelf for years.

Always plan for rain at Knob Creek and find some joy in that and then it won't rain. There's some kind of microclimate there that invites rain when it's sunny in the rest of the state. Trick is to be there already when they open.
The Patton Museum at Fort Knox is a must-see, not 20 or so minutes away. Just go in the main Fort Knox gate and tell them you're going the museum. They've finally got a bit of money to improve the museum. Patton's pistols are on display there too.
ps. Anybody in S.W. Ohio got a good or better P64 for sale? Can't find any with the usual C&R dealers (yes I know, not C&R)
