And finally a fix to your weak trigger guard spring. I took a 20# wolf P-64 trigger bar spring and cut and crimped to replace your weekened original spring. Damn it if it wasn't a perfect I mean perfect fit. Your slide occasionaly did not lock open on an empty magazine when I first received it prior to refinishing. However, I did manage to fix it so that it rarely has that problem now.

Troy - I don't know all the legalities, and I challenge everyone who thinks they do, but I think a person can ship a pistol to you if it's marked "Firearm for repair". That way they don't need to have an FFL.

I talked with a friend (20+ years UPS management) and he said it was no problem to send UPS ground to Troy since he has an FFL and it was a service being done to my firearm and it was not being sold. I was told not to mark the package at all. Troy returned it via USPS (also legal). I once had a repair done to a Ruger I had and Ruger sent me an empty box to mail it in and they returned it in the same box all via USPS. That has been a few years though.

+1 on that...ship to an FFL or direct from an FFL if for service/repair. As long as it is not for a sale / trade. I've been told this many times in my search to understand exactly what I can and cannot do as a C&R FFL.
