Since I hae not been to the range yet :-[....I was wondering?
Those of you that have put a few rounds through your guns, do they generally handle all ball ammo without any problems..ie: jams, stovepipes,FTF, etc?
And what about HP ammo, I have the Silver Bear right now but plan on getting some of the new Corbon Powerball loads.

I have put a total of 80rds of meister lead RN thru 4 diff P-64s. All fed and cycled fine except for a few noticeably light loads.

Nimble, there is lots of ammo history here in older threads, but my conclusion is that this pistol eats almost everything, unless you have an isolated problem example.
Only cautions have been on the 115 gr silver bear, because this small pistol was made for the 90-95 grain range, and the hot 115 gr. is probably too much for it. They'll work, but will kick the hell out of you, and won't do the pistol any good either. Some are using this load for carry only.

Yes, I plan on using the 115 gr. for carry only but do plan on shooting some to make sure it functions well with it. I plan on shooting the 93 gr Brown Bear hardball for normal range shooting.
I understand that they have a fairly good recoil even with the lighter load. I mainly was writing about the functioning.

So far so good with mine. I have been using standard Wolf 9mm Makarov ammo and all is well. No problems to report on any malfuntions!

Nimble, if you have one with the replaced left grip(thumbrest type), you might want a light glove, till you get a slip on grip, or smooth the uneven edge. Just a suggestion. They say it'll bite you.

Thanks but I have smoothed it down some. I am really looking forward to some new grips when Omega gets them in production.

I've shot Wolf FMJ, Hornady XTP and Barnaul HP. The one I was most worried about was the Barnaul "flying ashtray," but it was perfect, just like everything else.

As they say, commie ammo for commie guns. Oops, that's probably not the PC thing to say on this forum!

While Poland was commie when the P-64 was designed and made, I'm glad it's not now! Otherwise we probably would have never gotten the P-64!

I had been reading about these guns for a while and bought one about a year and a half ago.I was really suprised at how well the gun hits the target at 15 yards or less.It won't feed Hornady HP's but has been flawless wth all FMJ's 350 or so rounds.I'm sold if I lost it I would get another one.I also like the way it carries in a pocket holster feels thinner than a PPK.

There is an "Extreme Tactical Ammunition" available which is a hollowpoint with a plug in the cavity that should solve your feeding problems.

The new Corbon "Powerball" ammo should take care of it also.

I am shooting PowRBall in my .40 cal Sig and it works great. Now, if they could make this in 9mm Makarov, I think we would have a winner!

Abwehr, they added 9mm Mak to the PowRBall line on 15 December. However, it is currently out of stock.
