Review (kinda) of KeepShooting P64 Mags

Haven't shot with this mag yet, but I'll get back to you on that as soon as the replacement pins for pins that need replacing are in.

Basically, the materials used in KeepShooting.com's version of the P-64 magazine feel really solid. The spring feels strong, as does the body. The problem (see photos) comes with the feed lips. They're too long. In the case of the one -I- ordered, one lip is longer than the other. Pushing a round out with just a thumb is sticky. Could be that's just because this mag needs breaking in, but I'm concerned that those lips are gonna break something else before that happens.

QC at KS would have to be really lax not to immediately notice the difference between their product and the originals.

back when P-64 mags were $10.00 apiece Keepshooting came to this forum , and ask us to ,to sponsor them , they said that they were having some made , and they would something like $15.00 a piece , will when they came they wanted $20.00 apiece and we were still getting original mags from SOG for$10.00 to $12.00 , we told them and said they would give to us at that price , for being a member here , that didn't last long , there mag's were made of very soft medal and would deform after a couple boxes of ammo , then they wouldn't work at all,
so then the bad reviews , stared showing up here,
so they came the hipe about the springs in the mag's were bad in the ordinals , not true, the only reason spring go bad is use , i have WWII 45 mag that work just like the day came of the line
if you wear your P-64 springs you are doing some serous shooting with it, and you can get replacement from wolff springs , , just call them and till them what you need, they can come up with something.

so now they stuck with mags ,

I know that some of their are alright , M1 carbine are suppose to work great , and I bought some CZ 82's mags from them , and they seem work good ,
but stay away from the P 64 mags unless they change them , I here the K31'smage work great too

the pix of these mags have probably been long removed , I try not to remove any pix of mine , but photobucket changes the format, and some get delete

sorry

Wolff Springs doesn't make mag springs for the P64. I've asked them twice before, each time "We'll look into it."

Also KS has hidden the P64 Mag page now. I can find it in search results, or if I enter the address exactly, but it's been removed from the store listings (Example, clicking on the KeepShooting.com Magazines link shows every other mag, but not the P64)

Oh, just the generic 380 springs, okay. I keep losing track of the thread here that shows how to trim them down, I don't suppose you have that bookmarked too?

I put about 25 rounds through my newly-bought KS mag on Tuesday, and finally gave up on it due to failure to feed problems one or two shots into a full mag. I believe that the mag lips had spread slightly, but I need to get the calipers out and see. No problems with either of the OEM mags supplied with the weapon.

This seems to be par for the course from all the reviews and videos I've seen about KS clone mags. All of them, not just the P64 mags. Poor quality control, even worse customer service. They flood their store pages with fake 5-star reviews to offset the poor feedback and take forever to approve bad reviews.

My KeepShooting.com mag works great. Must be the luck of the draw.

That doesn't counter my point, in fact it reinforces it. QC means there shouldn't be -any- luck involved at all.
