I get out a couple times a month lately. I usually shoot about 100 also. When i shoot outdoors i take most of my guns and shoot several boxes each gun, so only around 50 thru the P-64 ,then. I shoot whatever Ammo I have the most of at the time (usually S&B, Hornady, or Silverbear) ,and then ,now I will be shooting about half handloads. Both places that I go are about a 30 minute drive away, but , I like the indoor range for the pistols best. G

TTH, late night post!
I've been shooting a P-64 and a FEG SMC 918 on the indoor range the past week. This weekend I took my 1985 Makarov out to the woods to chrony some new ammo, and I have to admit, it felt like a boat anchor compared to the others!
Now, I love the Mak. It's easier to strip and clean than the Polish (P-64) and Hungarian pistols I shoot. But once you shoot with a lighter pistol, the heavier Mak feels like a clunker.
I wish I could get out every Saturday. I'll talk to Her about that.

I usually go once a week on the weekends . I belong to a fish & game club that has 4 different length outdoor ranges. Occasionally I might sneak up there during the week but it is 32 miles so it's mostly the weekends. Now winter is a different story.I wish we had an indoor range for winter use.

I found this one photo of my wife shooting up at the club. It's real nice up there. There's a fishing lake , private campground and club house for playing pool watching sports , eating, drinking, and they have lots of parties and live bands. They even have a mini zoo with a couple black bears, bob cat and about 15 whitetail deers. We take carrats for the deers and an old donkey everytime we go shooting.

I get shoot about twice a month here in Ky, just go out to the woods and shoot, there is a range about 17 miles from my house that I go to about once a month, don't have pic of it right now, but will take camera next trip. These are pic's of the range I go to in FL, about 4 to 5 times a year now which is about 45 min from Panama City outside Port St. Joe, they have a a 50 yrd rifle and handgun range and a 100, 200 and 300 yrd berms too. Brother in law took one of me shooting his Beretta M9, I was thinking of getting one but wound up getting a 1942 Colt Commando .38 spec. instead, I love the old WWI & WWII handguns and rifles. Still interested in getting another 9mm, the only one I do have is a Star BM that I really like, and thanks to anjdrifter I have a great set of wood grips for it now. I am looking at the CZ 9mm or a .40 cal, I have shot and like the CZ75BD, but also looking to shoot the CZ40P, any comments on CZ40P would be appreciated as I have not shot it yet.

Papabear,
that range looks very nice, well maintained. How does it work, do you have to pay to use it ? Can anyone use it?

redfestiva,
Its a gated range, my brother in law is a member of that club, he said he pays $50 a year, they also have a skeet and trap range there too. Its a old range, the berms are redone about every 6 months, they have to clean up all the lead. I would love to go shoot there more often, but its about 650 miles from the house.
Forgot to mention that this range has military shoots once a month, bolt action and semi-auto competions and military handgun compations too. So far I have been able to make abut two a year for the last 4 years, actually have won two of the bolt action comps for one I used a Finn M39 and the other I used a Swede M96. I have come in second twice using a 1903A3. Pulled a second place also with a M1 Garand, in the semi-auto comp.

I feel lucky cause I live in the country and can shoot rifle or pistol right out my back door. It does have it's downfall though... you burn up alot more ammo.

Not enough! But that will change soon since my son has really taken to shooting and is waiting on his FID card to get started.
I also just joined a club with indoor, outdoor, skeet, archery, fishing the whole kit & kaboodle. We will be playing regularly at the indoor range (24 hour access) and hitting the skeet as well as refle ranges probably eveery other week.
Can't wait, trying to make this more of a family affair. My daughter wants nothing to do with it but my wife is slowly coming around. We'll see.
