the only reason for that pin to walk out it there is cosmoline in the spring that pushes down on the detent plunger that holds the pin in , clean the gun ,there is a detent in the pin, that's why you use a vise to put it in and take it out , you need to push the trigger housing in a little to remove the pin , if you don't do it this way you will shear the pin in half, or damage the hole , watch what you are doing or you will bend the barrel down ,

Great post. I've had the same issue and still can't get the pin into the holes of the trigger guard. Looks like I'll have to try to find someone with a mill to drill the hole bigger to fit the pin. I thought I bought the wrong pin at first too until I bought a second one and it was the same size as the first! Mine has been sitting in pieces for several months now. Glad someone found a solution! :)
