I see that Aim has now taken Silver Bear JHP off there ad. As of tonight they are only offering Wolf 95gr fmj at $7.50 bx. It's been only a month that they told me they had lots of Silver Bear fmj & jhp. People are buying this stuff up by the bucket load. I'm not going to buy much Wolf till I test it in my P-64. It seems to not have a reputation for reliability with some folks. I'll try if before I knock it though I guess. I usually only buy 250 rounds at a time.

Run what ya brung. I've never had a prob w/any ammo in the 64. Chews it up n spits 'em out. Little dirty ammo? So F what as I plan 2 clean it anyway. Reminds me of folks that are "afraid" 2 ride their scoot in the rain/on potential rainy days coz their shiney bike might get dirty. Mine don't quit in the rain or melt n the same goes 4 my 64......................................

Trying to keep up with Russian ammo imports can drive you crazy.

I am a little suprised that AIM is out of the Silver Bear. Other vendors still seem to have lots:

BTW, Windner's is selling a new Barnaul 95-gr FMJ:

The new 95-grain Wolf "Military Classic" is the first Wolf offering that is not from the Tula Cartridge Works. It's made at the Ulyanovsk Machine Tool Plant. Hopefully, this means there is better quality control.

Anyone have any bad experiences with CCI Blazer w/aluminum case? I picked some up yesterday for the maiden voyage, the range I'm going to only has the winchester w/brass casing, the CCI is also 95gr. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day.

manicmechanic,

I have use CCI Blazer w/aluminum case with my two older P-64's [68' & 69'] it was back some time ago but didn't have any problems with it. I have also used the same CCI Blazer ammo in my .45's [semi's & revolver''s] with no problems, my Star BM doesn't like it though. Let us know how you maiden voyage goes with the CCI Blazer ammo.

I shoot Blazer in .357 n have yet to encounter a problem. I also have some Blazer Brass in .40 but unless ya reload I don't see much difference between it n the Aluminum. I have read that the recoil on some loads in some calibers w/revolvers was sufficent to cause the bullet to move forward in the case so that the oal was great enough to cause the cylinder to drag but I haven't experianced such.

I shot CCI 9x18 along with 4 other types and ALL shot Fine BUT, the CCI was nowhere near the accuraccy as the others. it shoots fine but just gives loose groups . i shot 12 of each off of a bench and the cci were largest group at around ten inches at 20 yrds. the others averaged 5 inches and the S&B and Hornady averaged 3" or less.
I started reloading my own and i am getting ready to leave for the indoor range with my second batch of 24 cartridges. my first batch was shot into a really harsh crosswind last weekend and still they were really good groups (mostly experimental loadings to see what they would do. ) anyways i am expecting to see some really good groups indoors. I will post my results soon.

Back to the CCI= it functions fine ! accuracy was less in MY gun. still they are definitely not a waste of money ! go shoot them and let us all know how Your gun likes them ! Please ?
I hope it shoots great for you !
I have a .25 auto pistol that LOOOOVES the CCI Ammo. it works great in that so i Prefer CCI in that gun ! Good Luck and please let us know. G
