So it looks like with hammer back, the middle position activates the firing pin block but hammers still back. Can you carry like this for cocked and locked or is it for a completely different use? Just confused

there is no middle position on the hammer or the de cocker on a P-64
if you have one on your gun there is something wrong with your gun or it needs to be really cleaned

Mine does it too. The gun has been completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, reassembled and oiled. Nothing looks out of the ordinary, but when I move the decocker handle past the mid part, I did see the blocker move up halfway and the trigger moved freely, but the hammer is still in cocked position.
There is a you tube video review of the P64, where the shooter also mentioned that it kinda activates the safety, while hammer is cocked.
But I would not carry the pistol cocke and locked like a 1911. The decocker was not designed that way, if you noticed, the decocker knob moves easily to either fire or decock. Its an AD waiting to happen, if you asked me.
