Norm,
I like that Makarov you bought. How many rounds do they hold? Does the Makarov have a fixed barrel like the P-64?
I went to the range today and fired hollow point silver bear for the first time. Had no malfunctions and it still fires Double Action without fail. Wind was awful though. I use electronic headset ear protection and it sounded like I was shooting in a huricane.

thanks guys, but they are the old grips spray painted with the krylon fusion paint just for plastic. So far they are holding up real well. The paint really sticks to the plastic, and if I mess them up, I'll just respray them.

+ 4 on the comments for your Makarov. I had a Russian Baikal Mak in 9x17 [.380 commercial model] with the adjustable rear sight] about two years ago, traded it for a Russina Baikal in 9x18 military model, no adjustable rear sight] early last year and sold it at a gun show for $250, still have my two Bulgarians Mak's. Looks like you have the Pierce grips and the original set too, can't tell by the pic if yours is a Baikal or Izhmech, if its a Izhmech you really got a great deal, I have only seen one of them. Thanks for sharing, I really like my Mak's.

I think you did good too--I think EG Maks are going for something like $300-$350 now. I love my Mak, went to a sheriff's training range with a bunch of guys, he had us shooting at a three-target set. It was a timed deal, you only had so long after shooting the first one before the third one turned sideways--They all had these hi-dollar Kimbers and such, and I had my milsurp Mak, but I was one of the ones who was able to put two in the last target before it turned away--just because the Mak works so well and shoots right where you point it...
