Dual Action Does not work

I recently purchased a 1974, p-64. Took it to the range and was very impressed with everything except, the dual action does not work when a round is chambered. When the gun is empty, whether the magazine is in or out the dual action works. When the magazine is full, but no round in the chamber the dual action works, the second a round is chambered, the dual action will not work. I have taken the gun apart and soaked it in mineral sprits as I saw some posts about the guns dipped in a preservative before they are shipped, the gun is spic and span clean, lightly oiled but still no dual action when a round is chambered. I closely inspected everything and cannot readily see anything bent, broke, out of place..etc. I did see a post where the ammunition was suspected, so I tried some different ammo...same thing ( I did not bother to measure either round). The problem with the ammo, as I am sure everyone is aware, any ammunition these days is hard to get. There has to be a fix to this...any ideas would be greatly appreciated. The gun fires perfectly in single action. But I wanted it for concealed carry and need the DA to work.

Search here for more on DA problems. Seems to be a common problem reoccurring within the last few months.

Check you trigger return spring and you trigger bar.

Welcome to the forum.

Out of curiosity what brands of ammo have you tried?

+1 check the condition of your trigger bar.

Well, I check the trigger spring, it seems to be installed correctly and in place like it should be, the trigger bar seems ok, does not appear to be bent or worn, there is no slop. Very frustrating, any other suggestions would be appreciated, the ammo is Blazer and Norinco (some kind of chinese brand). Not really crazy about either brand but it's all I can get around here...like every where ammo is hard to get now.
