SORRY - PLS DISREGARD the following (I got my answer - looks like I have an aftermarket)
I bought a spare magazine for my 1967 P-64 but I continually have jams with it (FTF's). It is a brand new magazine. I see that the top lips of the mag are longer than those on the mag which came with the pistol (the mag which came with the pistol works perfectly - no issues). I saw on You Tube someone discussing that the mag with the longer lips are for later style P-64's and will not work in the older P-64's as my 1967 (but the earlier mags will work in the later versions).
Can this be the cause of my jams with my spare mag? Can anyone out there confirm for me?

just file your new mag down, to match your old one,and it should work just fine. I have a 1968 and a 1976, and I had to do that, now all my mags work in both gun's.
