I just bought a spring UNKNOWN poundage at my local ACE hardware store. Works fine, trigger pull is great. I have had no problems so far. What say you?

Hopefully it will hold up and not fail you if you really really and I do mean really need it if it is a defense carry.

No the spring did not break,But it took two men and a gorilla to pull the trigger...I replaced it with two springs. The first is a tighter fitting spring that fits snug on the hammer strut, the other slips over the smaller diameter spring. In the event one fails I will still be able to fire the weapon.total cost, $2.50 tax included...,I don't carry the P-64 as a defense weapon,I use a Glock 26 for that. I mainly use it to finish off deer. The flap holster works great in a hunting environment and the extra mag is good to have.. .

In other words, you changed the hammer spring not the trigger spring.

Was there any part number on the new spring or anything else to identify it?

Just take the spring and the hammer strut you have to the hardware store and find two springs that fit like i described. Good luck. I have put over 50 rounds through it with no issues.
