sorry about that I though you ere talking about refinishing it, I personally don't use Gun-kote or any other paint on finish except ceramic header paint ( not Barbeque Paint ), its a lot cheaper and if you bake it on ( follow the directions ) works just as good (IMHO)

I have not used Gun Kote but have done my P64 with Alum-hyde. it worked great . I used a toaster oven for heating and curing.although they say it isnt needed I got the toaster over at yard sale for 2.00 that was before I made up my stove pipe oven(thread here somewhere) only trouble is even after it cures let it air cure for 10 to 20 days. it has held up great and been carried alot and shot a ton since doing that.By the way use Header paint now almost exclusively with great results also.

Norm,
I noticed that in your pics of the hard chromed p64 it appears that even the mag floor plate was hard chromed, did you fabricate a replacement floor plate or did you get the entire stock mag hard chromed? And did you go with the matte hard chrome or polished? Looks great by the way! Is the finish holding up pretty well?
