20# Recoil Spring Very Tight on Slide

Post by PA-Joe »

Got my spring kit from wolf and was surprised that the package was marked P64/Makarov Springs. Hammer spring was a little longer than the original but seems to work fine. I had a hard time getting the slide back on. It seems that the 20# spring is just a little thicker than the original one and fits tight. Has anyone else noticed this? Slide went on easy with the original spring and hard with the upgraded spring. Once I got the slide back on it does seem to function ok.

Usually you need to grind the end a tad to match the original.

20# Recoil Spring Very Tight on Slide

I looked at those round ends and was saying to myself this may be a problem. At least now I can look forward to a problem getting the slide back off. Then a quick fix. Thanks.

That fixed the problem. Surprized that wolf does not advise anyone about this.
