Does anybody else here use Eezox? Every once in a while I post about the stuff. It sure brings out the finish in blued firearms. I think it protects the finish great, but I'm always leery of relying on "dry lubricants" on slide rails and such.

Eezox is a bit tricky to apply. Let the first coat sit for 24-hours, wipe it off, then apply several thin coats letting it dry in between. By the 3rd coat or so the finish really starts shining. It's a labor of love and best enjoyed by us anal retentive types.

nebender,

I've been using EEZOX for several months now, great stuff. I use it mostly to clean the outside surface of my blued handguns and you are correct about applying thin coats and letting it dry for 24-48 hours, and then re-applying, and yes after the 3rd or 4th application it really brings out the blue and makes it shine, it also helps to prevent fingerprints. I found it best to clean all the blued surface with alcohol first to get all the residual solvents, greases, wax and teflon coatings from previous cleanings off before applying EEZOX. The 4oz can will last for ever.
