feeding issues

Post by darrell »

I am experiencing some jams when I put a new magazine in with the slide open and rack the slide. I don't have any problems when the slide is closed and I rack in a new round. I also don't have any issues with a new round feeding after a shot. I think that all I really need to do is polish the feed ramp, but I want to see if that is the general consenous. I have checked the slide grooves etc and they are clean as far I can tell and also I have cleaned the gun.

I polish all the feed ramps of all my auto loaders , that's one of the first things I do before I clean the gun's up , before ever shooting them new and old that I buy

thanks Norm. I think that polishing will fix the problem.
