What do you think about Wolf ammo? is it only good to be trampled under foot like salt that has lost its taste, or is it worthy of the P64?

A friend of mine used wolf ammo and messed up his gun. I don't recall the details except to say that I believe it was his colt commander and he had to have a smith work on it after using that stuff.

I strongly appose the use of wolf steel ammo in any gun , its made more paper weights out of guns than any other ammo on the market,

I have shot some through my p64 and it usually works fine, but after a couple of mags have been shot through, they don't seem to feed correctly... I will fire a round and the next one to feed will go straight up and jam. I don't have any left and am looking for a different brand....

Lacquer from the cases excellerates fouling and gums up a pistol pretty fast. Not a fan of Wolf ammo either -- especially in pistols. I'm still working through a case with my AK / SKS rifles. They run just fine with Wolf but burnt Lacquer stinks. Won't buy any more after this case is exhausted.

I have used Wolf in 9x18, 9x19 and .45ACP and never had a problem, but it is dirty.

wolf ammo is ,as noted, dirty...filthy even. that being said, in the past 7 years i've put at least 7500 rounds of the steel cased through my makarov and p-64 without a problem. its a rare post when damage is reported. most complaints are about the residues. the use in other than commie block firearms would not be a good idea imho.

After reading about wolf on here I went with silver bear. I have shot wolf in my ar before I sold it and it worked fine though. Seeing how the prices are so close might as well get bear though. I just order 5 boxs of 9x18 HP silver bear from here.

The biggest issue with Wolf ammo seems to be that it ruins the firing pin. That is something we cannot afford to deal with on our guns as there are no parts available.
