OK guys heres a question for ya..........
can anyone give me a side-by-side comparison between the polish P64 and the Hungarian PA-63? pros and cons of both and maybe some side by side pics????

The pa-63 is bigger & lighter the mag release is a button on the side of the frame the mags are for the 380 so only fire 95 grn 9x18 bullets in it or it will jam.

THE stock p-64 will shoot any 9x18 bullet but it was made for the 95 grn. 9x18 and anything over a 95 grn. bullet kicks like hell mag release is on the bottom.

From what i heard, all other things being equal the Pa-63 will have more felt recoil because the alloy frame makes it lighter--is that right Norm?

It just occurred to me--the Pa 63 has an alloy frame, but there's more of it than for the P64, the 63 frame has a backstrap and is bigger--so maybe there wouldn't be much difference there...

how hard is it to work the P64's mag release?

The mag release works just fine. The P-64 is a high quality milled steel product, which will outshoot and outlast the stamped alloy PA-63.

Only reason the CZAK(P-64) is so cheap is because of the bad DA trigger pull, which can be remedied with a cheap spring change, or minimized with repeated use.

Sting problems have been isolated to the poorly made thumbrest grip that was a product of import restrictions. If you have one of those, just buy a set of ZEE grips for a very few bucks, and enjoy this little bargain.

OK you guys are selling me on the P-64!!!!! but I still got some questions...........

I don't see a slide release on the P-64? how do you load it after a mag change? does the slide lock back on the last shot and if so how do you release it?

The safety?? is it a hammer drop? and once you drop the hammer can it be carried with the safety off like a CZ-82 or must you carry with the safety on????

Yes I am thinking about the P-64 as an everyday carry gun.....anyone have an opinion on that??? pros and cons???

YES AFTER YOU PUT NEW MAG IN PULL BACK ON SLIDE THEN RELEASE

Guys, I have been really busy laterly and not able to check the Forum as often as I like, but this has been a good thread. As to the PA-63, I feel it is a good pistol too, but as "b52stan" stated, the P-64 has a milled steel frame and will last longer! I am not a big fan of alloy receivers or polymer receivers, but I do own some. As I have stated before, the P-64 is one of the best concealment pistols I know of for the price! I honestly feel, this has been a "sleeper" pistol because of the price.

OK!! I'm pretty much sold on the P-64 as a carry gun with a few mods

-Change the hammer spring to a walter ppk spring
-if I get the finger rest grips change them for Zee's grips
-I'll probably wrap the grip with a rubber tube (I did that to my CZ-82 to aid in grip'n the gun with no bulk.
-maybe a clipdraw clip, so I can just clip-it in my pants so I wont need a holster

any other little tips I need to know?? or does that cover it all?
maybe a link for extra mags would help

It is perfectly safe to carry the P64 fully loaded (including the chamber) hammer down without applying the safety. In fact, when I do carry my P64 for CCW, that is how I carry.

I, on the other hand, believe you should always engage the safety when carrying with a round in.
