I picked up a Llama .45 today at a local gun auction. I paid $250 OTD. It had no magazines. I didn't know this until I went to the auction so I didn't know how much to allow for that. I guessed they might cost $40 but now I see I can get them on gunbroker for less than that. Does anyone know a good place to get some mags for this gun?
I usually like to go to gun shows to get mags, that way I am sure they will fit. But they are usually a little higher priced there. Do all 1911 style mags work in this gun?
This is my first 1911 style .45. The only other .45 I have is an old High Point. It appears to have a three position safety, can anyone explain that to me?
I'll try to get a pic up as soon as I can.

dwd,
Probably going to need more info on your Llama 45, what model is it. If its built on the 1911 frame, you might be able to get away with a 7rd G.I. mag, in that case you can find those for under $10, however, some Llama 1911 style .45's are single stack or double stack and some use a narrow or wide base plate magazine, so the age and model of your Llama 45 is important.

On the left side of the slide it says "Llama CAL.45"
On the right side it says "GABILONDO Y CIA-VICTORIA(ESPANA)"
What does that mean?

That is the name and city of the manufacturer. Y = and in spanish. So Gabilondo and Cia - Victoria Spain.
This is a literal translation, I don't know if it means more to a Llama collector.

The right side of the frame is stamped:
Stoeger Industries
S. Hackensack N.J.
Made in Spain
B70xxx (serial number)
The left side is probably the date code
a couple of crests and I'2 which I found on another website that this indicates 1989 in Spanish firearms

that llama should take the GI mags, but of course there is only one way to tell. There must be a shop around or someone at range who has a 1911 mag(gi) to just test fit.
