hello all,
i am new here and have a p64. i bought it about a year ago (maybe a little less) and i have a few things wrong with it. ( a broken spring and a few other little things) and due to the lack of parts available i am thinking of just parting it out on ebay for the good of every p64 owner, so i can get my money back out of it. not a shot at the p64 because its a great little gun, but it just didnt work out for me. i dont want to charge a lot, just trying to get my money back. is anyone intrested in any parts? i looked on ebay for previous and current items and there doesnt seem to be much except for mags. i am not sure how much intrest there would be but i know i am having a heck of a time finding parts! if anyone thinks this would be a succesful venture or not please let me know what you think. you guys are great! thanks!

You don't have to abandon your P-64 just yet! We're here to help.
There are eight springs in the P-64, nine counting the mag spring. Hope I haven't forgotten any. ??? You can get a replacement trigger spring and slide stop spring here:
http://p64.home.insightbb.com/goods.htm
Wolff Gun Springs has a hammer spring that will work in the P-64, it is originally designed for the Walther PPK. It is Wolff Spring - Part # 25816. Go to:
http://gunsprings.com and then go to "Semi-Auto Pistols/Walther/PPK/Hammer Springs. Wolff also has a recoil spring which will work, originally intended for the H&K P-7, it must be shortened to work in the P-64. It is part # 44325. That leaves the firing pin spring, safety detent spring, sear spring and takedown spring. If you need one of these I'm sure the members of this board can determine what you could use as a substitue. You can find just about any P-64 part here:
http://tinyurl.com/eh6hn
BTW, do you have the round hammer or the pointed one?

guys,
can i just tell you what a great board this is? here i am ready to throw in the towel, no one knows me, and cant find anything then ya'll show me the light

you guys rock! okay, down to bussiness. i have determined i need a trigger return spring because the leg of mine broke off. i will be contacting norm via email to order this. is this hard to install? the other thing i am not sure what it is called. i read the forums and it seems everyone calls it something different, or i am just not sure. i would like to make the recoil a bit less. it is my understanding that replacing a spring (mainspring??i dunno) will do this. i think it is the one that wraps around the barrel...not really sure tho? a little help please!? whats it called and where do i get it?? oh and i have a pointed hammer. i bought mine new unissued, marked year 1967.thanks a bunch for the links and assistance. you have helped me more than you will ever know. thanks again! ;D

rambo91145,
Glad to hear you did not give up on the P-64! You are right about parts, but ebay usually has some parts up for sale. I did buy a couple of spares as a 'just in case". These were a Sear, Firing Pin, and a FP Spring.

Well, I don't want to be too negative, here. I appreciate your enthusiasm for the P-64. I think your real problem is that you have a "parts" gun, alright; a gun that was assembled out of left-over parts from two or more damaged guns. If you have a slide that says 1967 and a hammer that is triangular (you referred to your hammer as "pointed") then it is impossible that you have a new and unissued pistol. The triangular hammer didn't come into existence until the early '70s (1973 I believe). A 1967 model would have been made with the small, round hammer. So, the P-64 that you have has been, at a minumum, rearsenaled.
