Any body know where I might find a replacement trigger guard pin for my P-64? A lot of the sources previously mentioned here seemed to have dried up.

I got the P-64 from J&Gsales recently (a 1969 model) and put about a 100 rounds through it out in the back yard with no problems. I then took it on vacation with me. While there a buddy and I went to a range where after about 6 rounds the trigger guard pin broke right after the last round from the magazine was fired, dropping the trigger guard on the table in front of me... a bit surprising to say the least. I was able to recover the spring and plunger and the larger portion of the broken pin.

Thanks,

DN

I got one from J&G also, a 1966 model a month or so ago. Went shooting last night and the trigger guard pin kept slipping out and finally broke under recoil on the last shot too...Weird.

Hello Norman,

Thanks for the reply. Is it reasonable to expect some parts to come out any time soon? I'll give the roll pin idea a shot.

aa080,

That is weird... Post your solution if you devise one. I'll do the same.

Thanks,

DN

I will look at my Walther PPK. Maybe you will get lucky and the pins are the same size. You will be able to get parts for it then.

The Walther PPK trigger guard pin, best as I can tell, look almost the same size. If anything, it might be a little thicker. I cant get the calipers on the P-64's pin to tell exactly what size it is.

My advise follow Norms advise. when I first got one of p64 the same thing happened to my pin. I asked for advise here and next thing I kow I get this advise, both in PM and calls, from a guy I didnt know . he taught me how to make a pin it is still working after countless rounds and few years of service .best part is it started a great friendship,I dont use that word lightly, with our board expert which is priceless.
