looking for input on Beretta 380

Post by 6x6pinz »

I am looking for input on an early Beretta 380. This is the early model that the barrel tip up on and the magazine holds 8 rounds. I believe it is a model 86 or early 85. Any comments, experiences and of course a price range. The pistol is about in 8.5 out of 10 condition.
Thanks

Hi 6x6pinz,

That looks like a really cool gun. I have a Beretta 950BS Jetfire in .25 auto, and that one looks like its big brother! The tip-up Berettas are really neat. I used to have the 950 Minx in .22 short, but I sold it. I really wish that I had kept it now......

I don't have any hard info on your gun, but I have looked around the net since your post and there is a lot of information available. I would suggest looking on Gunbroker to see what they are selling for and what is around for them as far as mags and accessories, etc. I'll be looking myself. I really like the way Berettas are made. Very nice work and good quality guns.

Have a look here: http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg108-e.htm

Do you have one that you are looking for info on, or are you thinking about getting one? Show us your photos! We love that here!

The Cheetah is reported to be a great gun, never read a bad write up on one and Gun Test magazine gave the pistol a exceptional review. Beretta still had them on their products list several years ago but is not currently listed. The pop up barrel was designed for people who did not have the strength to work the slide, a very handy option for the elderly and those who lacked the necessary dexterity. My guess is that a like new model will be a collectors item before very long. Standard models currently run between $375.00 to $475.00 at the Auction Arms and Gun Broker with some asking ridiculous prices that will never sell. No pop up models are currently listed at either site.
Good luck.

I am known to like the smaller caliber pistols by the people at the range where I shoot. I recently picked up an HSC Mauser from one of the employees and now another is selling his beretta to get a newer, larger caliber pistol. The pistol is in very nice shape just did not know what the value was on one. I picked up my wife a tip up 22 some time ago and she really likes not having to use the slide to load the first round.
Will have to stop by and see where he is with his price, would make a great christmas gift for myself.
