Hi Norm! I'm anticipating the arrival of your trigger spring shortly. I see from your instructions that I will need to cut the spring to fit my specific pistol. I have a question.....would I be able to use the original spring as a template to mark then cut the new spring? If possible, that process may be easier for me to handle. Thank you, Dave

Would like to know about what trigger pull spring would be best for a lady, I just got one of these P64 in and she can't even pull the trigger on it, Now she doesn't want it, I guess i will get a new spring for it, shows 17,18,19,20 , 17 is ok to put in the handgun, ?? any help would be appreciated, I have athe chek model myself and it must have a 18 or 19 spring in it , works very nice. any idea's on the springs, thanks LB

A lot of the fellas use the 18 or 19. I went with the 20 and am happy. From what they say, lower that 18 could cause ignition problems, that's why I went on the high end.

You might want to look into a heavier recoil spring while you are modifying. A lot of the fellas went with the highest, a 22. I went with a 20 and am happy. Also, if you pistol has a round hammer (pre-1973) you might want to get a trigger spring from Norm. The earlier trigger springs were know to break and they made them heavier in the updated guns (after 1972).

thanks Dave, I am a Gun Dealer and got this one from J&G yesterday and the lady who wanted it was very disappointed in it so I guess i will keep it myself and put the new spring in maybe the 20, I will ask Norm for one, I appreciat the quick answer because i was just about to get a RMA # from J&G and send it back. this has a date of 1976 on it. You won't have any trouble selling the gun yourself if you desire to. They are drying-up as you probably know. I may have confused you on the springs a little. I'll clarify:

1. Since your pistol is a 1976, you will not need a new heavier trigger spring from Norm. The gun already has one.
2. If you go with a new hammer and recoil spring, you'll have to go to www.gunsprings.com for those. I went with a 20 hammer and 20 recoil, but most fellas seem to like a 19 hammer and 22 recoil.
