After I had problems with my new acquisition I contacted SOG and explained the problem of the pistol jamming. At the time I had purchased 500 rounds of Romanian 7.62X25 ammo. SOG said that I could return the gun for credit or swap if I paid the return shipping. Something told me that the problem wasn't the gun. I took it to my local guy, Murphy's (here in Tucson) and explained the problem. Their gun guy miked the Romanian ammo and found that it was out of spec! Enough out of spec to jam in the receiver.
I switched to Wolf Gold and SHAZAM, it shot beautifully!
As my wife said "Why did you buy all those bullets,anyway?".
So I know have a bunch of ammo and no gun to fit it. I did see a Romanian Tokarev for 209. do you suppose if I bought one... ;D

How was the accuracy with the Wolf Gold?

Since I just really fired the CZ52, the accuracy was lousy. To be fair, I think once I shoot a little more the accuracy will improve.

Mine didn't shoot worth a darn with the 7.62 ammo either, that's when I went to the 9MM barrel.

I used to own a CZ-52 and did have some problems with the surplus ammo I was using. For some reason it seemed that the thing would not eject the empty shell sometimes and that got old really fast. I switched to the 9MM barrel but the thing had a feeding problem and was much worse than the 7.62 barrel. I got rid of the gun but seeing how it is kind of hard to find the 9MM replacement, I kept it to pick up some extra cash. I just need to find someone who is looking for one.

My experience with the 9mm was just the opposite, had problems feeding the first fifty to one hundred rounds then everything smoothed right out. The pistol is very accurate and has very light recoil, glad I made the change.

I have two CZ52's, I actually like em now that I have some custom made grips that are roughly 1/8" thicker than the original grips. For me the thicker grips give me a better grip on the CZ52, and it will prevent limp wristing that can cause jams. Even using surplus ammo its fairly accurate for me at 10 yds, even with rapid fire I can keep all rds in a 9" paper plate with a standing free hand stance. I know Dennis makes some really nice CZ52 grips now, I've had these grips before Dennis came around, but I would recommend finding some thicker grips for your CZ52 if you have large enough hands, sure made a difference in accuracy for me. I actually miss my CZ-52, thanks to this thread. I will pick one up in the future for sure. They look so damn mean to me, and I really do like the round.

I'm glad to see some have had some luck with their '52's. Mine was continually splitting cases even after a barrel change and roller change. I sold it and bought a Polish Tok and let me tell ya, NO problems whatsoever, even with the Romanian ammo.

cz 52's rock and I haven't had any probs yet with mine.

I am getting ready to start using some surplus romy ammo so i'll post an update when I get a chance to report on the accuracy and reliability of it.

If not for the $$$$$ crunch i'd love to have a TOK!
