J & G has sig p-6's listed for $259. Seems like a good deal to me. Are these worth it? Is the p-6 a good gun?

+1 with Trent. They're amazingly accurate for a short barrel midsize, and smooth as silk. They point well, and are a very thin gun for ccw.
I bought mine back in late January from Centerfire Systems for $249, and that is the absolute lowest price that I have heard.....and now I think they're $279 at Centerfire.
So, $259 is a steal for this gun.

The SIG P-6 is one of the best built, most accurate guns ever made. SIG is known for its superior engineering & quality. I bought one of these locally and it's my favorite gun. It has a little finish wear on the slide from holstering and unholstering but inside it was brand new, almost never fired condition. I shot a perfect score on my CHL qualification with it and am probably going to buy a second one for my wife - she loves to shoot it, too! Can't get it away from her at the range - she shoots up all my ammo!

Thanks guys, I thought it was a good buy but don't have any experience with them. I went to the gun show today and got to hold one, they wanted $379 for it and it wasn't very good. But I bought a Norinco Mak for $300 OTD and I think I blew my fun budget. If I get a few bucks together before J & G gets rid of them all, I'll get one.

I wonder if it is worth the $20 up-charge for the "very good grade" or the $19.95 extra for another magazine?
And they offer a belt holster($10) and a shoulder holster($20). I wonder what they look like?
I think every semi-automatic should have an extra magazine and every hand gun should have a holster.
Does anyone have any experience with these?

I found the holsters on J & G's website. The belt holster is not what I want but the shoulder holster looks nice.
Is there a better price somewhere for a p-6 magazine?

any sig 225 mag will work. Just look around. I bought both of mine from J&G and picked up the mags at the same time. I figured by the time I paid shipping it would work out the same.

You'll have a hard time finding a magazine for less than that. I'd go ahead and spring for it. I'd pass on the belt holster. It's a big ugly clunky thing. I only bought one for the historical significance, you know - how the gun was carried by the W German police forces and so on. Don't have any experience with the shoulder holster, though. It might be nice.

I knew it was too good to be true. J & G has raised the price to $269 and they are backordered now.
It's hell to be poor.

I just picked mine up a few days ago at a local shop, swear it is like new in the box. shot a few rounds today to test it out very pleased with the mechanics. mine came with a shoulder holster and it is a high quality one simple but nice .took me forever to get to fit right. not the the holster's fault but me. I have more trouble setting them up.But of course I never read directions at christmas time when asembling kids toys., now grandchildren toys ;D

Nice find anj, I shot mine up at Water Bottle Hill over the last week and great preformance as usual for the SIgs. I ran some of that Armscor ammo with the non- jacketed lead heads then followed those up with some Blazer Brass fmj. Hopefully that will help in de-leading of the barrell. I'll update on that as soon as I get a chance to see how the pistols faired from the Hill take-over.LOL!

AnJ,
Your Sig P-6 sure is purdy, nicest one I've seen so far coming off the used rack, say, did the white on the front sight come from the factory that way or did you or the previous owner put it on there? For me, I like it, with these old eyes it really helps.
